The most important thing to me is.

 

My family

Christmas having fun giving pressies.

 

and most of all

 

getting new fishing tackle

Seeing the look on the kids faces, with wide bright eyes, as they come to me and get their present, receiving the huggs and kisses for Santa, having a little chat with their full attention. There's nothing like it, makes it all worth while being Santa for an hour at the kids Christmas party. Ho Ho Ho!!!

Going fishing for Pike. I,m nearly 30, theres no weans about and frankly, I,m about as Christian as Osama Bin Laden. Don't get me wrong, I like a Turkey sandwich and the Poseidon Adventure but the whole thing has been ruined by the 2 month run up the shops force upon us every year.

The less said about Slade...the better.

I can remember finding my mum scrubbing the front step at 5 o'clock one Christmas morning. Can't think why, other than the fact she was probably bored.

And what had you been up to, comming home at 5 o'clock on a Christmas morning?

Don't think so. I didn't taste beer until I was 26 and it was long before then. She died when I was 29.

It was probably the cold draft blowing upstairs that woke me up.

I couldn't have been going wildfowling, shooting is not allowed on Christmas day.

It was too early to be watching Stagecoach on the telly.

Now who can remember that every Christmas?

 

OF COURSE, I MIGHT HAVE BEEN FISHING!!!!

 

I remember being woken one morning by a heavy vibration. I went downstairs to find my mum trying to hold down a spin dryer that had something it it out of balance. Don't know why she washed a mat at that time in the morning.

Formidible, my mum. She could used a 7lb sledge hammer with one hand. She reckoned that she would use it on any motorbike that I brought home.

I never had a motorbike!!

mmm. I didnt know what to buy the missus this year. I could have got perfume but I did that last year. Jewellry (sp) nah. Wine is a bit boring as was clothes. She already has a new car so I was at a lost end.

 

Then by chance i was walking through B&Q when I saw an enormous light bulb, 65000 watts of pearl power in its own little box with its own little lamp. Now its wrapped up waiting for her to open on christmas day, I cant wait until she ripps off the paper and plugs it in. I cant wait to see her little face light up!!

Don't worry at that power it'll burn a hole right through the roof and crisp her up nicely.
