Ian, perhaps you should buy an Olympus Digi, then you will have some real kit,

i'v spent a fortune over the years on crap photos that i throw out or stick in a cupboard somewhere.

since going digital i take 3 times more pics than before .

if i wanted to wait for days for an envelope to drop through the door i can get jessops or nikon to print my pics on tiny little bits of paper

or i can go home and in about 10 mins print them off myself a4 size including multiples if i want to give granny etc copies.

within minutes of getting home my bro in hong kong has them too.

ok it cost £300 but for that i got 2 rechargeable batteries that easily lasted through a fortnights hol in tunisia,2 memory cards one bigger one that holds about 350 pics for email and such and one small card that holds about 12 high quality shots that i think are as good a quality as 35mm except they are a4 size.

i can instantly see if my fingers in the way of a good pic and retake instead of waiting a week to find the pic i thought was gonna make me famous is instead of my fingerprints and could get me arrested.

i point and shoot with a camera i dont care what iso film i'm using and all the stuff about exposure settings and such might as well be yiddish as far as i'm concerned.

but my digi cam has settings for night use / portraits / in snow etc etc just by turning a dial that has ickle tiny pics i understand.

digital rules supreme in my house

oh yes and it takes video too :D

PH:

Does anyone have a Film/Slide scanner? If you do, how is it working out?

Yes!

Epson 1200. Seems fine to me. BUT!!! The slides need to be of good quality to get good results. In other words the Tansparencies I have taken are crap, but the ones Ad Swier [professional] sends me are brilliant.

I have Canoscan 2700F. Works fine for me, I use it to archive my thousands of slides some of which are pretty ancient now and some have been attacked by a fungus eating away at the emulsion. Hence the need to save them. It also scans negatives if the need arises.
