Been fishing for 44 years and still haven't ever been checked.

Nearly died of fright just now. Got an email from the EA entitled:

Environment Agency Notice of Prosecution

Fortunately, for me, it's just advance notice of an impending court case against an alleged polluter.

Phew! Thought they'd found a discrepancy on my rod licence

i dont think ive ever been checked by an EA official only club baliffs.there must be thousands out there who fish without licenses. why do people have a problem with paying either 5 pound for under 17 or 23 pound for an adult. they may say its alot but when you think about how many times you go fishing in a season its well worth a few quid.

Never had my license checked and never heard of anyone up this way being checked either. It must be hard to police though, when you think about every possible stretch of river, canal and lakes across the UK. They'd need a pretty big team to get to them all reguarly. Maybe they just concentrate on waters around where they live?

We spoke to the EA's guys, being the last to be checked. Everyone on the fish in had their license.

Second time this season by the EA.

I'm a member of "Bromey & District". The fishery bailiff's check for your EA license every time . . so in total maybe 10 times this season.
