The joys of laying laminate flooring

hate the stuff ,if you want wooden floors then use wood (if ofcourse your laying fake on reel wood :confused: ) ,you wait till it chips it wont be so nice then .hopefully people will realise it is cheap because it looks it ,prospective housebuyers will notice it and suspect whats under it :confused:

as for the dogs put them in the garden on a chain where nature intended

Johhny Boy, the concrete is already there and just outside the kitchen window and is about 2.5 feet wide.

We was gonna put a plant pot over the drain cover but may do something else along the lines you have mentioned.

Not too sure about raising the level Alan but ill think it over when i next have a good look at it.

Gonna wait till this wet weather as gone before i do it anyway.

Chesters my wife and Daughter have threatened to put me out in the garden on a chain if i do that to our black lab.

In relation to raising the height level of your patio, make sure you stay at least a brick (preferably 2) below the house dampcourse.

You might want to build a nice insulated shed out there if she goes through with that threat!

He could get a friend to phone the police when it comes to the time to dig up the old patio, if said friend mentioned there was a body under it he would get it dug up for free

I dropped a hammer, screwdriver and pair of pliers onto my laminate in the dining room while wiring in a new ceiling light.

They just bounced off, not even a scratch.

 

If you are using laminate get decent stuff not all the cheap junk Q&B, Basehome, millsgreat etc sell.

Also make sure you lay a plastic membrane on concrete floors and use a decent underlay.

A decent underlay acts as a thermal layer, makes the flooring have a slight bounce (nice to walk on) and stops the floor creaking.

 

I have laminate in the dining room and consevatory. Dont know how people have it in every room. I like a good carpet in the living room and bedrooms although this can lead to carpet burn on the knees when the wifes in the mood!!!!!!!!!!!
