White Easters are not new phenomenon.

From the Met Office web site

Snowy Easter

Easter 1-3 April 1983 - this was the snowiest Easter with Scotland, the Midlands and Kent getting up to 10 cm of snow. Over the past 45+ years, snow has fallen quite regularly, even in lowland areas. Snow fell in 1958, 1965, 1970, 1973, 1975, 1977 and 1978.

One of these winters we will have a REAL severe winter like those we endured in 1947 and again in 1963. How do you think we would cope with that?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

The winter of 1947 was a very bad one i have known snow in june here before in 1976 6" at 6am in the morning all gone noon june the sun is strong but it looks like there is sting in the tale this winter we only just got rid of the snow here yesterday being laid a fortnight there could well be dollop over the next week low presure to the south and east will keep feeding the cold european air meeting the moist air from the atlantic perfect combination for heavy snow fall.

More snow this morning.

Hopefully it will warm up for you quickly, although bad weather in the UK is good news for countries like us tourism wise. At just over 2 hours flying away we have 20c+ at the moment.

Tourist resorts in the south are very busy this weekend, full of people that have come over for the Irish day celebrations.

I,m not sure we have winter here ,still some waterlillies with leaves on down the pond ,still a rose bush with some old ones on in the garden

Do temperate countries have winter or just a cold autumn or spring ,if you compare it to russia we have permenant summer with a bit of chill at christmas ,if you compare it to north africa its permanently winter
