Web-Mail

I've been a Hotmail user for over a decade but Microsoft in their wisdom have decided to update and re-brand it as an Outlook product and my initial response is not favourable.
I can no longer see the full text of the subject lines in my inbox. It's incredibly slow. When I start an e-mail, I can't even scroll down to the text area unless I use F11 to get rid of my toolbars. Oh, and the spellchecker refuses to work.

OK, some of these things might be glitches and some just might take a bit of getting used to but I'm seriously thinking about jumping ship - or at least preparing contingencies for that eventuality.

So, what webmail services are people using and why ?

I travel a lot.

I have friends that I don't get in touch with that often and changing e-mail address every time I change ISP's is a good way to loose them permanently.

Got my own domain name/hosting and webmail with 3 choices of interface to select from when I log in, also with my hosting I could pretty much install what ever free webmail client I want.

Other than that I have a gmail account which is pretty good as a disposable email (don't care what crap gets sent to it).

The junk filter on it is pretty good too (gmail)

Someone recently asked me to check out their hotmail as they thought something was wrong with the new bloody outlook addition to it. No longer can you click "Display Images". To show them you have to go a tedious route of adding it to trusted senders list which was hard to find at first. Also wanted to install some bloody plugin to show those images as slideshows.

In the end I told him to forget about it and get a gmail account.
