All,

 

I admit I'm not to "up" on birds of prey. However, I always thought hawks had square tails; falcons had "v" tails.

 

I could guess but since it isn't a hawk - - - I'm strike three - - - - out!

It's on my list as a possible parent/ancestor, along with Lanner, Saker and Peregrine (there's more, but the permutations are almost endless).

Now somebody is on the scent ;)

 

It's pure blood . No hybrid or tribred.

 

Tends to be found in dry climates ;)

Aha, a new sub-species to me...no wonder it's paler than ours!

Never seen a Lanner that looked like a merlin!
