Kazaa

Woody Guthrie - and Vagabond had it right.

quote:

At a young age he left home to adopt an itinerant lifestyle, travelling across the United States as the Jazz Age turned into the Great Depression. The poverty he saw on these early trips affected him greatly, and many of his songs are concerned with the inequities faced by America's working men and women. A lifelong socialist and trade unionist, he also contributed articles to the Daily Worker. In 1935 he achieved fame in California as a radio performer of both traditional folk music and his protest songs.

The plight of the (mainly Oklahoma) farmers was a frequent theme for him.

GREAT BIG FAN of Kazaa here, but not now.

I have downloaded things like O**ice XP and Flindows XP etc 400mb files but well worth it if you have Broadband

But now here in Denmark anyways, music companies are actually tracing Kazaa users back to there ISP and IP address and charging anything from around 100pound to 10k! for the music they have downloaded.

Also, the fact that it has so much spyware on its. If you have a program that can show you what spyware is on your comp at one time it will show you all sorts of dangerous stuff  :(

A tip though if you want to continue using it, make sure you have a VERY UPDATED Norton Anti Virus 2001 (idealy 2002 or 2003) and also make sure its on ALL THE TIME and also have Internet sercurity aswell.

I have downloaded several files and if it wasnt for Norton i would of had an infected file.

one final tip, although its tempting to play the little bit of file that you have gotten whilst the rest is downloading Norton won't actually check the file and determine if its infected until AFTER the file has completed downloading.

I have download a few 200 upto 400mb files and as soon as they were finished BANG needed to be deleted again cuz of a virus.

Finally its worth scanning the file on its own again after its downloaded even if Norton didnt say its infected.

Kazza Lite is used because all the spyware is removed so it is non-traceable.

If you use the speed up prog with it,it will automatically look through the entire kazza network for your files till it finds them.

Thanks, Newt, and Vagabond, but what was his beef with Irving Berlin's song? Was it simply that it didn't portray the 'real' America, or was there something else?

Sorry to be a pain, but I'm curious about it.

Den - it's gotta be that sunflower you are using for an avatar. Or something.

Worbender - sorry but I'm not really sure. Any info I dug up would be from a google search.

John.

I downloaded Kaaza Lite, and then ran Ad Aware and found 10 little suckers working in the background. To remove one of them I had to reboot and disconnect from Internet.

Kaaza has now gone and I think I will stick to copying my friends CDs for the music I want
