Turnpike - Sending Mail

Elton

Recommended Posts

I use Turnpike 5.01 for my internet connection and mail.

Yesterday, I had to change ISP.

I can receive mail, but get a '550 Relaying Denied' when sending mail.

I've set up the right gateway in the config.

It also then freezes the connect programme.

I had a go with Outlook, and that sends okay. However, I've never used Outlook before and would prefer to keep Turnpike.

Any ideas?

Good explanation of the 550 error Here.

Read the page - gives some great info. But basically the ISP has decided your Turnpike app is a spammer.

Shame on you. :D:D

Note: Relay does not apply to sending to users local to the SMTP server. If you connect to "domain.com" and send mail to "user@domain.com" you are not relaying. Often this is confusing because it means that you can send a test message to yourself, but cannot send mail to other people on the Internet.

Ah, that explains one of the things I found. Cheers, Newt.

Sussed it - it was because it doesn't like a different 'From' address in the header.

Phew! :D

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
