UHF channel lists

Does anyone know where I can get a simple list of terrestrial channel frequencies - BBC1 North, BBC 1 East, ITV Central, etc, etc.

I've spent about half an hour Googling for them and all I get is a load of incomprehensible techy stuff about digi boxes.

All I want to do is tune my dvd recorder in manually.

I have just bought the Tevion one from Aldi but it gives a very dull picture. It seems it will only work properly on an RGB output and my tv looks much better on the older format. I don't think I can do anything about that, but I thought it just as well to warn people.

Also, if you want to put yourself in a really bad mood, just try working out how to wire up a dvd recorder, a Freeview box and a tv with only one scart socket. It's enought to make you want to stamp on a fluffy little bunny.

You can get multi sockets for scart, ASDA sell them and Ebay has loads of differant ones.

As for channels/frequencies I see what you mean, I just searched as well.

I have a book with them in somewhere if you get really stuck.

the channels differ to where you live (regions)and which transmitter your ariel is pointed at for instance we get 2 itv channels meridian and london ,if your telly is modern then you can see what channels are being used in manual tune ,just switch on your box (whatever it is) pick an unused number on your telly 7 (or whatever) within the tuning doo da and set it to search ,it will find all your normal itv bbc channels etc just set it to carry on searching after it locks on an unwanted channel untill it finds your box then save it on the tv channel number you first selected .

as ferret says theres splitters available 1 scart to 2/3/4 etc so long as only one device is on at a time it autodetects the applience and you can see it ,with 2 on at a time its only ok if the scart splitter is switchable but not impossible

A site for TV nuts

(yes it's safe!)

Look on the forums and you will find info on all transmitters and their channel listings.

There are also loads of links to tv engineering websites etc.

Digitalspy was the first website I tried and was the one full of gobbledegook. I bought a three-way scart splitter, but it seems only to add to the complications. I think I'll just have to get three aerials and put three tellies side by side in my living room, with a different device connected to each.

Best way to hook up lots of stuff to only one scart on a TV without using a Scart switch box is to 'daisy chain' them to your video, then when you set your vid to AV in and your TV to AV in whatever is on the incomming scart to the Vid will be shown, (assuming the vid has 2x scarts!)

If not then you need a 'manual' scart switch box from Maplin / Argos - the 'auto' ones tend not to switch without turning off the other 'scarted' thing.
