Broadband useage

Recommended Posts

We want to change ISP but need to know our current useage to decide which contract to switch to.

We have a 2 computer home network, and between us we're online perhaps 12 hours per day. However, we use the internet just to surf and for e-mail. We don't download music or play games.

Better still, is there a way that we can check the amount of data we're currently transferring on our broadband connection?

Thanks.

Thanks for that, Summer.

We're investigating what's on offer, plus reliability and service ratings etc. Nildrum and Plus Net are looking good.

i know it's fashionable to knock them, but as far as broadband goes, i've never had anything but first rate service from BT. which goes some way to making up for the hell they put me through with ISDN!

Si...:

Bulldog for me, I have 8Mbps unmetered and uncapped ADSL on a BT (yes thats BT) line and free local and national calls at anytimg for only £42 a month.

It's Bulldog we want to change from!

We've not had good service from them, with plenty of downtime. Their technical support phone lines are open only 8-8 weekdays and 9-6 weekends, and we've tried unsuccessfully to get through to them since Friday morning.

I gather they used to be highly rated, but they certainly aren't now - possibly to do with their takeover by Cable & Wireless.

I've used BT Broadband at home and BT Business Broadband at work for a while now and never had any problems whatsoever.
