Anchors , bits and bobs

Had a float but that was attached to the bit in my hand, the anchor line was cut just above the chain by Nifty's fishing line attached to his best tope of the day.

It wasn't a bad sacrifice to make for a chaps Tope.

Can we please forget it now :(

I havn't slept all week, reliving the fateful moment over and over again and thinking of that perfectly good anchor lying there at the bottom of the sea.

Did he ever land the fish? If so I missed the thread and, how big?

Has he at least the decency to pay you for causing the loss of an anchor I'm sure you had sentimental attachments for?

Cost of the device + chain and a bit more for your pain and suffering would seem reasonable to my mind.

Nah, it was my fault for anchoring so close. Going to buy 2 for the next trip. :D

Newt,

I have offered to pay for the aforementioned anchor but Starvin being the gent that he is refused :)

The fish made it to the kayak and was an estimated 25-30lb.

nifty.

25-30 lbs. That must have been some serious fun. Well worth Starvin's anchor then. :)

But we have only got tadpoles compared to your Tarpon, Threshers and Lemons over there Newt, to say nothing of the billfish.

Roll on global warming and bring them over here! Never mind the Kyoto Agreement - you lot keep throwing as much CO2 into the air as possible, then we'll have some serious fish over here!

Bluefin Tuna off W. Ireland again now - but too far to paddle. Imagine doing it from a mother ship though......
