You will have to swear an oath and train under the grand bass sensai of Drummore "Freddie The Bass". I am a pupil of his, have learnt a lot but it will take years of dedicated training to become a grand bass master as he is.

I still am not worthy to wipe his chesties "eek"

Chesties? I thought he was a chap! Is there something we should know about these Mull gatherings?!

If you are referring to CHESTIES, well that's different, but I thought you Scots were all rough, tough and hard to bluff - wet wading surely :D

that looks like great fishing guys - how deep was the water you were fishing in ?

were you literally just dropping the lead straight down ?

i wouldn't mind trying one of those tope on a 10wt fly rod !.

We were in 21 feet of water on the edge of the reef, dropping half to 2oz leads straight down and drifting in the tide.

Some of us were ground baiting with small chunks of mackeral. Speciman's Caper looked like a butchers block by the end of Saturday. :D

They were fun enough on a 12lb class rod. :)

sounds like the job for a fast sinking line and a weighted clouser.

imagine that 2olber on the fly !

makes you think whats possible doesn't it.

Rather than the fly - imagine scaling right down and going for a line class record on 8lb line! It could be done in a kayak because there is so little weight for the fish to tow. How much 8lb mono can you get on a Ambassadeur 7700SX ? About 700 yards I think - hum, that Porbeagle record looks in trouble too :D

Hi All,

I know it's short notice but I'm going up to Tywyn this weekend for another bash (weather permitting). If anyone is interested let me know.
