That 'roo is what we call a boomer and they are BIG. Taller than a man and heavier too! They just about total your car if you hit one at speed!

I found myself wondering what options the snake would have if it found the 'roo to be too large.

Hanging there, head down, and anchored to a large and very dead animal. No way to spit it out.

Perfect place for that snake body to blend with the surroundings though. If it had remained horizontal, I doubt it could have been seen or noticed from any distance.

I guess that it would just have to drop down to the level of the 'roo. it probably prefer to stay where it is, but at times we can't have things just as we want them so I guess that the same would apply to pythons too! :)

Just looked up the species of that big worm of Chevin's

Olive Python Liasis olivaceus

The books say it grows to "4 metres"

Now if that boomer is roughly 6 feet, there is at least 25 feet of snake in the shot, and the tail is still pretty thick where it goes out of shot. So I reckon 30ft would be no exaggeration.

We are going up to Cape York later this year, where there are "even bigger" pythons. Well. it IS in Queensland....where everything is bigger :D
