What motivates you to get out of a warm bed and participate in your chosen field of angling?

I take one look at Joan and think  I stand more chance of scoring on the bank :D

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

The thought that I might finally out do you on something. Then again I have one thing to my name this year, the biggest fish from the Avon. No, honestly I just love fishing and the close season is just too long.

There's no such thing as cold weather - just insufficient clothing!!! I love winter fishing - probably as much - no more than the summer. The river banks are usually deserted, the fish are bigger and in their prime. You might have to think more and use some watercraft to find your fish - but that just adds to the satisfaction when you catch!!
