back to the gaffing issue.

i use a very large net for all fish bar skate which up to 100lbs are lifted in. over that it reqs a gaff.

why 100lbs when i have lifted a 150lb fish in.

nearly done me back in lifting what i thought was 100. :¬(

congers fit in a net ok.... when the person using the net knows what he is doing. that's another story.

Dale, Wouldnt you damage a 100lb fish, by trying to get it in a net..BTW, Must be some size of net.... :D A fish that size must be getting on for about 6 foot long, ...Havent got the charts to hand...I actually used 100lbs as an anallagy...I really meant any BIG fish.....I too have lifted big fish in, its not a very healthy activity ....you wouldnt do it at work, so why do it on a boat in the sea, while bobbing about...too damn dangerous if you ask me.....But, I'm only mortal mate.... :D

hey if your boss told you to stand in the freezing rain for 8 hours you would tell him where to stick it?

why then do we all volunteer at the weekend????

Norrie, need new specs mate! i said all fish bar skate.

tope are tailed. generally everything else is netted or just lifted. if it falls of then thats ok as its just going back mostly.

no comment on the first one, apart from "it wasn't me"

the picture shown was not rough sea, in my opinion, therefore i posted an appropriate picture in my view. it just so happens i live in scotland and not norfolk. maybe that wee swell is what constitutes rough for the area, i do not know as i have never lived there.

hardly a hijack ;)

now if you want a hijack, that can be arranged quite easily ;):P

oh yeah, no you can't have your fishy back :P
