I have just removed over 20 non-responsive replies to this topic that were all poking fun at a couple of spelling errors in a very reasonable suggestion.

 

If anyone dislikes the idea, please state your reasons.

 

If you like the idea, feel free to so state.

 

If you want to ridicule spelling errors, please do it elsewhere.

so you have just removed 20 posts that did not conform to your thinking! non-responsive you say!

ill try my hand heer as i havnt seen some of the posts but feel that forums ar made up of these with the nuggets of info hidden inside and ar somtimes worth persuing!

more often than not, a post that is ment distructivly can turn into a whole new debate better sharper and more concise than the original! post!

the original poster came up with an idea that i in some way have posted before (except i called it the back stabbers ballroom as apose to the ring)

these forums ar about angling but also about networking info and friends and that is impossible without some friendly banter and the ocasional dig in the ribs!

its how us quant little brits make friends, ive had heated debats on heer come to a conclusion and now regular pm buddys with them!

just too wipe peaplse posts out becous u dont understand the humour would be a bit rash would it not?

 

i know your a mod and for that i bow down but lets not get carried away!

P,S I agree with the concept slayer! it would mean nobody could disrupt a thread with petty arguing and be sent to a room to box it out!

also we could look in and see how ther getting on!

most arguments left to run ther course work them selves out!

spent a bit of time in the forces, any infighting it would be off to the gym and a milling sesh, seemed to work!

geffaz, there is little thats more frustrating than pedants taking the p**s out of spelling errors on a ruddy bulletin board..........I think thats what irked newt.

i am sorry newt, but what you removed was two guys making up sentances with names or breeds of fish in replacement of words, a challenge they had set themselves over msn.

what was the harm in that?

My comment was nothing to do with spelling errors. It was the first thing that came into my head. Nothing more. After that the first few posts were about spelling errors then it seemed to turn into some game about fish names, then I went to bed.

 

Is sam's Idea possible then ??? Are you talking of an area of the forum where you could have foul language etc with some warning attached to warn potential viewers prior to viewing?
