Hi Terry

Dry suits came up quite recently. Have at look at this thread:

For me a drysuit gives peace of mind - if I'm fishing alone, I lose contact with my yak and end up in the water then providing I have the suitable underlayers & pfd on I should be ok if I can call for help.

Terry was it a divers dry suit or a sailing/paddlers dry suit you used to wear?

As you may know these suits are very different to each other. If it was a dry suit for sailing/paddling (surface water sports) I think the materials on them have generally improved over the years and they're more breathable now. But for summer paddling some may be too hot to wear. With the guys who wear dry trousers and cag here I don't think any have complained about the material too heavy and being sweaty inside. There are differences in the fabrics used though it would be good to hear about peoples experiences with different brands.

post-7370-1141401366_thumb.jpgpost-7370-1141401333_thumb.jpgFor me the Drysuit gives me the opportunity to fish all year round-I have a Gul 3 layer breathable that I bought at last years Southampton boat show for £180 as Speciman says providing you've got the suitable underlayers it's gotta be the best way to go ---there's no way I'd be without one

Hi specman, years ago I did some sailing and used a dry suit then, I have the dry pants and tops but want to go out all weather, well almost all weather, and seeing that I have split my trousers I was thinking that this would be a good time to update. I realy want something a bit harder wearing then the paddle trousers, any ideas on make. terry

Hard for me to comment on make as I only have experience from the one I use which is made by Kokatat. As its goretex and lightweight I am conscious that it would be easy to puncture/rip although its well made and the seams are holding up. If your going the dry cag/trouser route the Palm wear looks well made.

Richi what do you use for footwear when you wear your dry suit? My neoprene boots are hard to get on when my feet are layered up with socks. I was thinking of buying a pair of cheap trainers or hiking books.
