That's a shame but it was fun while it lasted - i enjoyed a few of the early AN fish ins here which were always good fun.

I always found the fish to be small there (well compared to the LIF stretch we used to visit regularly) but I did love the variety of water available. as soon as this stoped though it lost its appeal for me.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Fished it a couple of times but got a bit fed up with the WW1 trench-like conditions of the path from the hut to the river, and as DD says above, the fish did tend to be of a smaller average size than the LIF. Had my one and only attempt at nymph fishing there, and caught a tiddler grayling so was well pleased. There were supposed to be some big roach in that section of river, but I never got to see one or talk to anyone else who had either.

I had my first fly-caught grayling from there too. I really enjoyed the numbers of fish there, but I can now catch decent numbers of modest grayling elsewhere, so LIF is more attractive.

Always thought the place was oversold (and over-fished). Not been down there in a decade despite organising one of the very early AN grayling fish-ins there (2002ish?? - edit 25/01/03!). I won't miss it!

Nope! In fact despite repeated attempts I don't think I ever caught any roach from Timsbury!

The first couple of fish ins there were great though, plenty of fish and simply beautiful surroundings, and decent weather. The last couple I seem to recall were rainy and muddy, no access to the carrier and catching mainly trout.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
