Vanishing Water

Elton

Recommended Posts

Sometimes, the level of my pond drops dramatically over a few hours. This doesn't always happen on a hot day - it's happened on rainy days before.

It also isn't constant - i.e. it will go weeks without losing any water.

Could there be any logical explanation for this?

Have you got a pump?

Are all the connections good?

If not maybe it's ok when the leaky joint is blocked but leaking when clear until the next bit of rubbish blocks it, if you get what I mean???????????

Is your spotty dog fursty?:)

It could be an intermittent blockage - I do have to clear the pump fairly often and have had blockages right the way up the pipe before.

you may have a hole in the pond it's self, and rubbish blocks it, then gets moved by the fish, the pond leak's the rubbish moves with the water covers the hole, and the leak stops, this is correct as it has happened to me.
