yes just be realistic for what species you want to catch

A decent carp or spod rod will allow you to spin or float fish for mackerel.

Ideal for calm-weather, night-time bass fishing (20 metres).

Ideal for mid-range, calm, shallow-beach work .....

where you'll fall down is if it's rough, weedy or a lot of tide.

Try it and see.

Hi

I use my quiver tip up the rivers for mullet or on my local pier floating for mackerel and gars,

and i also use my carp rod for golden grey mullet off the beach when its calm!

But i think its just down to the tide run and the amount or weed really!

yes if you wish ,a 14ft match rod is ideal for hurling a 6oz weight to the horizon and carp rod is ideal for skate fishing ,use your head

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

But make sure you rinse it all down with fresh water before you pack it away.

The question however has been answered by Dr Malcolm in Jurrasic park. "you could but the issue is whether you should"

OK its a loose quote(ish) :D

When I was a kid I used to fish off harbour walls with a 13ft cane match rod. Was all I had. Caught absolutely nothing whatsoever using this approach.
