All you have to remember is that someone may well be a nasty opinionated so and so who you disagree with violently but they'll most probably help you out if you have a fishing query that you're stuck with.

That's a really good point Ken. A few times I have disagreed with people about some things, worried about burning bridges, and a few posts later we are exchanging tips. Just goes to show that the people on this site (99% of them anyway, and the other 1% won't last!) are passionate about angling.

id like to introduce myself too, im ralph from lincolnshire, im an avid summer tench fisherman and a winter pike fisherman.

 

Welcome to you too Ralph, what Simon says is right, you get a cross section on here, but one bit of advise, don't take anything said too personally, and it helps to have a sense of humour. (OK that was two bits of advise, but we've got a special on this week :blink: )

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
