Flounder Fishing

I will be going Flounder fishing either Friday,Satarday or Sunday evening.Launching from Rockley (Lake pier) and take the flooding tide up to Holton Heath.We are on Neaps so will be a nice easy trip.

If anyone is intrested memo me as I can pick the worms up at half the price of Shop brought ones

Good luck Zzippy, thinks theres a few about, might try myself Sunday for a couple of hours, Saturdays weather looks a bit pants.

 

Will you be trying the old Poole Harbour float rig? Or sticking on the bottom?

Hiya Scott.

Your right about the weather.I just looked.I think I will go On Friday night.I will have one rod fishing the bottom and one on the Float.I will probably anchor up between the islands at Holton Heath.

Good choice of mark, probably head that way, had a look up there a couple of weeks ago and there were a fair few PBSBAC boats drifting around the upper reaches.

 

Look forward to the report , we're heading out tonight for the Whitehouse Grounds, try to get the first Ray of the year aboard, some big blondes (rays ) about if you can sniff them out.

I will look for your report on the PBSBAC site.I used to Fish the White house alot from the beach.There a good ray holding sandbank about 90yards off the shore there.It was only ever Small eyed I caught though.

Fished there a lot last winter Zzippy--caught a few flatties too.Good spot

Any good there in the daylight Zzippy? I've fished from the sea wall between Lake and Rockley during the night with some success, not tried day time but will have a go in the Yak on Sunday weather permitting.

did alright in the day last winter---done early morning launches there but never at night

If so,let me know.I might join you if thats ok Its meant to be a northerly wind tomorrow.That will be fine for Holton Heath.

I didnt manage to get out last night.Had too much to do yesterday.At least I finished all the block work for the new pond(lake ) now.

Yes Zzippy, pleased to have you along. I'm not an early starter or a strong paddler so don't worry if you want to head off. Aiming for around 9.30am launch at Lake and upto to Rockley then over to Holton Heath depending on how the fishing is going, oh and plenty of tea breaks.
