Cashing in or confessing?

Both of these gentlemen should be prosecuted to the maximum extent the law permits.

It won't do Nigel Williams "career" any harm.

As "stroke pullers" seem to have almost hero status in most fishing circles, I would guess it may even enhance his position..............sadly.

I know what your saying but I honestly think that times are changing.Modern pike anglers particularly are far less tolerant of old fashioned "stroke pullers" like myself!

All depends on what rules are being broken I suppose.

In the case of Nige Williams I dont think he was ever particularly liked by the majority of the pike world as his tactics and aproach were generally seen as ver aggressive and obsessive but you cant deny he was sucsessfull.

I think that allthough some anglers "push them selves to the fore" generally it is the media who create their "celebrity" status. In fact you can often watch newcomers being "groomed" by the media.Be interesting to see what happens to Niges "fame" though.I think Cranfield may well be right that it wont affect it.

After all if kiddy fiddling didnt afect Jacko's record sales then Im sure breaking an import/export law wont affect how many people will read his stuff thinking it will help them to catch more.(and lets be honest thats all the people who pay him to write will really care about).

Might even have a negative effect of more people thinking that if they risk smuggling carp to Ireland they to will get great catchs! :(
