No, I got the 1.75s cos I'm a sucker for a cork handle!

(That wasn't the only reason, honest :D ) I still haven't really tried them out.

I've seen the 2s though - both States in Witney and J&K in Bicester had them in stock last time I was there. States did me a good deal, that's where I got mine from.

I have 2 avon quiver series 7 in 1.25 and 1.5 TC. Great rods, very versatile - i have used them for zander, perch, tench, chub, barbel and have handled pike to 18lb caught 'accidentally'. I think they ae excellent and could whole heartedly recommend. I understand Drennan are about to put the prices up on their rods due to weakness of the £ and cost of raw materials relative - the series 7 is going from £90 to £115 and the duo and other rods will follow, apparently.

They're what I bought for Wingham, made for the job!

They've got a lot more backbone than the average Barbel rod and the 2lb top was punching Method feeders out to the eggbox without issue.

I picked up the pair for less than £180 shopping around online.

Haven't heard anything about the SG fish in, when is it?

Just to note that the Greys shortcut has changed now that their new web site has been launched, heres a shortcut to the new greys site which shows the Greys prodigy specimen rods

Bump!

Has anyone got or seen the 2lb versions of these?

Rich

I saw these in the tackle shop, must admit I'm sorry I didn't see them before I went for the Grays!

Did you buy them in the end?

Yes, they are very very good rods. A really good action with few large rings. Exactly what I was looking for!

Even Steve Burke (ex-rod designer who knows his stuff) was impressed with these. They're not just re-badged carp or barbel rods, they're designed for exactly that type of fishing - I wouldn't swap mine for anything!
