  • 2 weeks later...

I use Firefox 2.0 as my default browser and Thunderbird 1..5.0.8 for email and I have no problems, apart from maybe 7 or 8 spam messages per week.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Its nothing to do with Firefox, you will get all the Spam on the Internet with Outlook Express, as well.

Download Mailwasher, which will weed out your Spam, before it reaches your email programme.

It just means that your email address has got into the spammer's world. This is not the fault of your browser. Most likely you (or someone else) have provided your email address to someone unscrupulous who has sold it.

Who (don't mention your full address) are the emails actually addressed to? Is it a real user?

Crap? Getaway!! :P:P:P

It's the best browser out!!!

Absolutely Emz

Firefox for browsing, with maybe IE6 or IE7 for the odd sites that only work with IE.

Thunderbird for mail.

If you are getting a lot of spam, it has nothing to do with your browser or your email client. It's the crappy web sites that you are entering your email address into when registering for a free download, or registering on forums.

If you run a web server and use the mailto tag you are just asking for spam.
