Aldi - Fishing Tackle

Elton

Recommended Posts

I know that there's of ten a little gem thrown up when the likes of Aldi sell some bits of tackle, as they always get spoken about on here.

They've got some new lines being launched in June. Full details here:

I haven't got any images yet, but have been promised them as soon as they are available.

Having a quick scan down, the waders may well be okay for people wanting a cheap pair for occasional use. It will be interesting to see if the telescopic rods are suitable as 'holiday rods', too, as that's a topic that often crops up on the forums.

More likely to be bought as "illegally spinning in the close season and killing fish for the pot" rods.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Aldi actually sold fishing equipment here in germany too. I must say, that it was all not to use. Very cheep made stuff. I'll never buy there things to fish again.

Have had stuff from Lidle and that has been excellent value. Basically a case of using common sense when purchasing.

I see the dreaded Peduncles word has reared its ugly, racist head, grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Why spin when you can buy half a kilo of sprats for a quid and use setlines ?

The point about the kit being used illegally if fair enough though and if previous Lidl/Aldi offerings are anything to go by, there will be no shortage of illegal lead weights, illegal pike gags and illegal keepnets in the range.

I used the word Peduncles without any refernce towards race etc.....it's just a generic term.

I've just been sent the £4.99 shelter. I'm off fishing on Sunday, so will take it and see what it's like. Seems like incredible value for a fiver - I thought it would be really small and flimsy, but it looks okay. More to follow...

That's the shame of it, us Peduncles have become just a generic term.

whats a Pedunkle?

admin note - we have a banned word filter for the forum and the singluar of that insulting term for travelers is morphed into a basically nonsense word, Peduncle. We originally missed a few variations. I have just added several forms of the insult so they will now morph as well. Newt
