I tried to read the forum but it is like they are speaking a totally different language. i suppose there is a whole different set of terminology in the big game fishing in the usa but it does make it impossible for an outsider to follow a thread.

I have to agree with Ken's comments, fish look nicer swimming away than strung up on a dockside, and personally when I need some thing for the table I go to Tesco. I guess there is a commercial value to these fish as i can not imagine any sport angler having a freezer or an appetite large enough to cope with 350+ lbs of swordfish, and the sale would cover the cost of the charter. But at what stage does a sport angler become a commercial fisherman...I suppose the definition has to be when he makes a profit from the trip....but using the same definition it would suggest that very few fish are returned because there is money in them!

Nice fish but they are DEAD. Exellent fishing and goodn sport though. You must try and get all your skippers to go catch and release and give them a Rex Hunt kiss

Leave some fish for your grandbairns to catch :)
