That's hardly surprising chesters, a third of the electorate didn't vote at all.

 

181 posts, and still nobody has mentioned a viable alternative to the present government.

that was out of the voters ,the non voters as you say didn't vote for any of the crooks and liers proffered by their parties

theres also those that voted labour not because they believed the spiel labour spouted but because they didnt want the opposition to get in ,far worse than those accused of wasting their vote by not voting at all in my book!

In other words, they voted for the lesser of two evils.

There might have been a time when I liked him too. Now I don't have any time for any politician. They are all in for the money as far as I can see.

Dont be daft, how many MP's go into public life because of the money? ....None I suspect, they enter politics because the want to serve their community/and country.

 

Just how much do think Gordon Brown could earn in the private sector? A lot more than even a Prime Ministers salary I bet.

 

You may not agree with or even like them, but give them some credibility.

most if they were not mp's wouldnt stand a chance in the private sector ,that comes after being an mp where they sit on boards 4 days a month doing f all like they did in their previous job

most mp's get their money above the not inconsiderate wage they get for little more than picking holes in each other in perks, tax dodges ,expenses and a 100 & 1 other ways behind the scenes ,just their meal allowances are more than half the working populations wage.

Aaah, but it's a lesser evil, and they can sit back with a smug look on their faces, and say "if it wasn't for my vote, you'd be a lot worse off".

 

If your waiting for our system to move into the 21st century, then you'll probably be waiting until the next century.

i'l wait

political parties are no more than management firms ,they have accounts accountants and all the rest ,the mp's sell themselves no more no less.

if a real management company came to my front door promising they will do X ,Y and Z if i employed them then didnt i could sue them for breach of promise or breach of contract as its a verbal contract.

the political parties promissing the same and even putting it in writing in the manifesto can change their mind and go back on that promise or contract with no chance of going to court even when that change of mind includes illegal acts etc.

As far as I can see you are anti just about everything ?

You talk of bringing the SYSTEM in to the 21st century, what SYSTEM is that you refer to ? Is it democratic? Go on tell us please

i just did as you posted.

why do people consider MP's anything more than salesmen ,most have no training in their job as an mp and most would tell you its day when its plainly night if they leaders told them to.

once elected they can do as they please with little chance of the electorate chucking them out untill the next election! hardly democratic in my view
