South coast

As weather has been pretty poor over the last few weekends, I've been getting my charts out , plus books of marks, to try and identify some intresting new marks off Hastings, and as soon as weather settles down a bit, give em a go. The mark I've chose is Hooks Ledge, I've never fished it before, but from what I can see, theres relitively easy access to the water.

Now I've heard on the grapevine the south coast ain't fishing well at the mo, so is there anybody local who can put me straight and maybe hook up and show me the ropes, thanks in advance

Well Hastings was a no go, due to a stiffening south easterlie and a pea souper of a sea fog, we drove over the other side of Beachy Head , ended up in Newhaven, sea flat calm , with a reasonable shorebreak and no fog, so we kitted up dragged the yaks to the launch point , what happens the bloody fog rolls in . Gave it a while and it became patchy , so we decided to fish the west side of the breakwater, any way the old shorebreak has picked up a bit now, so we had to slide down the pebbles in between waves, quite exciting to, plus the people on the beach loved it. We had ballen wrasse and pollack , Danno's wrasse was getting on for 3lb , but that was the best fish for us that day. Both pleased with catching wrasse as thats as thats a new species for us Essex boys.
