Hi Simon, you need to resize the jpg's to 640x480 for the forum which should reduce the file size quite a bit, i shoot with a Canon powershot pro1 in jpeg format with a depth of 8 million pixels and an image size of 3264x2448 they only come out at 3-4 meg are you shooting in RAW format or BMP?? because a 70meg jpeg must be huge even when reduced to 8 meg, what camera do you use??

To host my piccies i use, nice n easy.

www.tinypic.com this site will also reduce the size of the image.

Like so. :D

Newt also offers up some information in the Prowler 13 thread.

1. File name CANNOT (must not, won't work if) contain spaces. my-yak.jpg is fine. MyYak.jpg is fine. My Yak.jpg won't display.

2. Picture size needs to be no larger than 640x480 and any picture editing program should allow you to size it. I like Irfanview because it is a very easy change to make with that (free) application. Picture format should be .jpg or .gif to keep the size down for our folks who have slow connections. Also easy to do with Irfanview.

3. Use the web space Elton has provided for us for posting to the forum. Go to http://www.go-fishing.org/upload/ , fill in the blocks, browse up the photo from your PC, and click the Upload File button. On the next page, just copy the entire line containing your picture name and the image tags at either end then paste them in a post here. Your picture will appear.

eeek Outdoorplay.com where I bought my Kokatat drysuit from now offer their suits 25% off (no free fleece liner though). Shipping charges to the UK will be $50 & import charges less than a £100 (about £80)... a very good time to buy one. They're about £600 if you buy from UK or Ireland.

Was wondering if anyone used their kayak for 'conventional' bottom fishing. Don't know what type of a rod to get for the yak. Want to do some bottom fishing for ray, flatties etc.. would a 12lb class rod suffice?

Speciman, I am new to Yak fishing but am planning to do the same thing as you i.e. bottom fishing and am considering 12lb class rods with small multipliers. Have been looking for 12lb rods that break into 2 equal halves have found a few and they seem to be reasonably priced.

Hi Specimin / Yaskalos

I have a Ryobi masterline project 12 boat rod (whatever that is ha ha!) It was a present from a friend who fishes from yaks / small boats a lot and he has one too. We have pulled some big cod and a few nice skate (which were like trying to pull up dustbin lids, from the Irish sea!. They perform very well and I dont think they are expensive. Would post a pic but havnt tried that yet. Will try tomorrow when I attempt to post my new yak pic.....all the best SDD (Dave)
