An easy quiz (for you lot anyway)

Translating Brit slang as probably used by Posh & hubby which will make them very hard to understand in the States.

I scored 9 of 15 correct but I was sure of only about 4-5 of them and the rest were pure guesses.

I'd expect perfect scores from most on here.

Thanks Newt. Hard up for a story at NBC? Funny though.

I got 13 out of 15 - would love to know which ones I got wrong. Problem is, we need to work out the American equivalent. On the fringe question, what are "bangs"?

I got 14/15. There were a couple of ones there I'd not heard of - no idea what a slider is. Think that's possibly the one I got wrong. Bangs is a very old fashioned word - you never hear it used now. I doubt whether any youngster would kow that - we say fringe.

unless they have taken on a new meaning, they are the part of your hair that hangs down over your forehead down to/in your eyes.

I got 10 out of 15 so did a tad better than Newt - but not by much.

I'm waiting for the reaction when Beckham goes to a local eaterie and asks for pie and liquor. :)

Chesters, in this part of the country a slider is actually the name given a hamburger made at a fast food restaurant called "White Castle". Sliders because they are small and greasy and "slide" down very quickly. Had them just once when I was on business in Indianapolis, Indiana and was sick for the next 24 hours. I hate 'em!
