did you see the top gear ( i think) programme that tried to 'kill' a toyota? i can't remember the model except it was a pick up type vehicle.

they drowned it in the bristol chanel? (sea anyways) for about 12 hours, it started after being squirted with wd40 and only using a spanner, they ran it into brick walls, trees, dropped it from being suspended by a crane, and it still ran! i would go for one of them if the old fart of a dog stood a chance of getting in it (i don't fancy lifting 11stone of dog in and out especially after a visit to the beach)

Paula,

I remember seeing that. I took the 4runner (same as the one shown but with a covered back) from Rosyth to Birmingham and back and it took £110 in diesel. I would love one but it would bankrupt me in about a month.

I agree with the Subaru, looks like an estate car but with 4x4.

Yup, a HiLux, I had a mate that had one of them, more rust than metal but a great engine.

I looked into making "diesel" from chip fat but to make it legal you have to pay tax which makes it almost the same as regular diesel, and it still smells like a chippy :(

This should sort out the doggy loading/unloading. Just a suggestion though - buy one like the TV demo vehicle but don't buy that specific one. :D

Re the HiLux - don't forget they put it on top of a 40+ storey block of flats and then demolished it! Still worked....
