corydoras 451
Well chuck , if you have an issue with MS and Vista , so be it. I'm happy with it Oh I've no issue with MS in general. Their products are my bread and butter, but I don't like their latest and greatest. Even Steve Ballmer admits that Vista is a bit of a problem child http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/189501/ballmer...progress34.html When they bring out SP2 for Vista I might give its tyres another kick. The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.Vaut mieux ne rien dire et passer pour un con que de parler et prouver que t'en est un!Mi, ch’fais toudis à m’mote
barry luxton 537
It a dual core laptop. came with 1GB ram, has been upgraded to two. With Vista loaded, I have about 1GB of ram free, with XP I have about 1.5. That makes a huge difference when I'm rendering video. Its not UAT that bugs me, that can easily be switched off, it's the amount of RAM Vista swallows up, even when it's doing nothing. Sussed it, wise Chesters was right. Now is the time to buy, with 3gb ram and quad core vista does seen very enjoyable to use. Still if the machine starts to get bogged down we could allways double the speed with an upgrade. As i got my one i looked at a laptop that had 4gb fitted as standard, wondering what that one would be like to use. Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted. New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. Although they claim to rep all.new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. Even if it could neither Vista or XP would be able to use it. Both are limited to addressing 4GB. chesters1 1546
i think the same is running 2003 and mobile5 on my pda ,ran fine with 2003 but mobile5 slowed the devil down ,the pda i have comes with either operating system but i upgraded (and quickly went back) ,the newer software though is better but hogs the minuscule speed of the pda's cpu Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle Mathew 4:19 Grangers law : anything i say will turn out the opposite or not happen at all! Colin Brett 13
Vista does need more resources to run and for a geek, the safety features can be annoying. That said, for most users it is a huge improvement and almost certainly more stable. I'm running Vista on my laptop at home - it came pre-installed - and have no intentions of removing it in favour of XP-pro even though I own several legal copies. I just have to live with being able to compute more and do less housekeeping. It is probably a bit slower with heavy duty programs but I'm not running any at home so it is doing fine. Chesters - a 64 bit system should run almost all (maybe all, all) of your 32 bit stuff. I'm not sure it emulates 16 bit as well as XP can though. That would need trying with the specific ancient apps you have. Vista does need more resources to run and for a geek, the safety features can be annoying. chesters1 1546
i expect if you took out all the useless "visual" crap vista may improve but as usual rather than streamlining with better code microsoft just piles in extra code slowing things down.still negotiating for a vista 64bit version from a source but will dual boot with XP to be on the safe side.eventually everything will be 64bit so i'l have a head start Edited October 26, 2008 by chesters1 Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle Mathew 4:19 Grangers law : anything i say will turn out the opposite or not happen at all!
