Should Hatton take a few backward steps, to try and get some clean punches off of his own?

 

Mayweather without doubt had hatton all weighed up. He knew he'd come wading in and altered his game accordingly.

Bah, should of known, last time i stayed up to watch the boxing was tyson v bruno, and that was a load of s**t, lost £20 bet then.

Too bad lads' just got back from the pub and all the Canadians in there were cheering Ricky. That ref was interfering a bit too much in the early rounds I thought. Mayweather is a class fighter though but ricky is a tough lad. If only he boxed a bit more than wading in hands low face open, it could have been a different outcome. He showed that he can move his feet and his head at times but didn't stick to it.

Could Hatton have won if he had taken his training and his conditioning seriously between fights and not put on 40lb through eating pies and drinking Guinness ?

20 OK, he'd have lost most of it by upping his training schedule in the runup to the fight and then cut the last couple of pounds in the sauna before the weigh-in, but 40 has to seriously impact on his ability to train and build cardio.

I think Mayweather was a lot "harder" than Hatton's camp thought he was.

He rode the early rounds and then settled in to box Hatton.

The 9th round was sad to watch and if the fight hadn't ended in the 10th, I think Hatton would have lost by a very large points margin.

 

The good thing is that Hatton never let his fans down, he gave it his best shot, has earned the biggest pay day in his career and can still box at light welterweight if he wants to.

 

I wonder how much the Bookies won.

That was one nasty shot. Hatton is still an awesome fighter in my book and one heck of a guy!

Mayweather called it a check hook I think. Ouch!
