guys not often i would ask but if you could support the case of this young man who we are going to deport .he was trafficked to the UK after one of his parents were killed in sierra Leone .but has made a way in life as a footballer and pays tax has a girlfriend who they have a months old baby with .why oh why our so called government feel he has to return to his country where he would probably be killed as his father led a secret sect i do not know .

if you could support his campaign to stay with an e mail to the watford mp who is helping wardc@parliament.uk with AL Bangura in the title i would appreciate it .

I'm sure someone could post a link to the BBC website with the full case details .

thanks in advance Alan .

they always try to deport the ones that fit in mate ,they are easier to find ,whether he would be "killed" "abused" or "victimised" is a stock reason not to be deported so pinches (very large ones) of salt need to be taken and are taken by the gov (unless your solicitor is privately paid).

if his girlfriend if british marries him in an adjoining country to his own he will find it far easier to get into britain legaly than most ways here ,or if he and his girlfriend (providing the sprogs british) go underground for seven years (the reason so many immigrants get pregnant) then resurface he can get status that way.

unfortunately illegal is just that but perhaps a chat to the immigration channel or an immigration specialist will wheedle out the loopholes but generally going home then reapplying is far faster than appealing here.

email protests are useless ,we saw that with the 1.8 million being ignore by the government last year so a few hundred dredged up wont work a jot sorry.

the rules keep changing but gaping loopholes are always there ,no doupt someone is looking into them for him at this moment but if he's here illegally then he hasent got much of a leg to stand on than if he had some sort of leave to stay or work permit or student visa

chesters thanks for the reply so far thousands have e mailed in suppoet and it is growing .i cannot see how we are better off deporting someone who is adding to the country paying tax etc .just as an aside he will eligible to play for england soon ,perhaps he needs to learn italian .seems most on here could not give a toss if a young guy with a family it to be possibly seperated, and maybe killed, never mind eh alan

unfortunately its a term heard to often ,i "maybe" killed tomorrow or "possibly" injured ,we all could be "possibly" or "maybe" anything even the most deserving cases suffer in the frequency those old excuses come up in an effort to stay!

how long has the guy been here (obviasly longer than nine months if his girfriend hasent left here) and why its only now that he's been threatened with expulsion he's raised these excuses? ,if he's been to tribunal and appeal then thats the law if he only now becomes concerned then its entirely his own doing.

if even the nicest guys are illegal they are still illegal being nice doesent change the law unfortunately ,as i said its those that try to be honest that suffer the most as they are easy to find! the dishonest ones always win hence were full of dishonest overstayers or illegals not the really deserving ones that put something into the country.

its far easier to manipulate the stats by chucking out those with their heads over the trench in full veiw than find those crawling in their droves beneath it out of sight purely because its easier and faster and looks good to those concerned

"Most on here" have not even been on here since you posted this topic less than 6 hours ago on a weekend when we are always less busy and less visited than during the week.

Some of those who have been on and seen this topic might want to make sure they have the entire story before making a move.

Some might wonder if family is so important to this person, why they don't go with him to avoid seperation.

Some might be aware, as Chesters mentioned, that this sort of protest simply does not work.

Why not thank those who offer support rather than having a pop at those who have not?

.The guys has been here for years, and the appeal is yet to be heard, thats why they are looking for support .whilst i understand people not feeling they can make a difference sometimes in the UK apathy really does seem to rule . so far thousands have e mailed the mp who is collecting the evidence and a few more might make no difference i understand .cheers big AL

Sorry, but tragic as his early life may be, Al Bangura hasn't exactly "been here for years" because he only arrived in the UK (via Paris) in 2004.

From what I can gather, he has given inconsistent accounts of how he got here and has lied to immigration officials about meeting up with family members in Paris.

You also say that Al Bangura's "appeal is yet to be heard", but that's simply not true. His assylum application was rejected and he then appealed against deportation back to Sierra Leone in November 2007. On 11.12.07, that appeal was rejected. Yes he has lodged a further appeal, but that's just a delaying tactic.

The fact that he's working as a footballer is hardly going to impress his tribunal, particularly as it's very likely that he is working illegally - most assylum seekers are barred from working.

Personally, I see no reason to treat the guy as a special case and would happily see him on a plane out of the country. The story about the freaky cult with the death threats and mutilations in particular sounds like a croc to me.

Are you sure your judgement hasn't been impaied by being a Watford fan ?

If the guy was such a responsible individual who must have been aware of the posibility of being sent back to his home country, he would have been careful not to have started a family who could not be sure of safety if he were to take them with him. Or could it be that he thought that having such a family might win him residence in the UK - even though he might be an illegal immigrant? Sad about England losing a potential football player, but perhaps it could mean that an English player will get the place he could have occupied. (Oooops! Is that a racial statement?)

I think this young man has a more credible case for sanctuary, than some of the other immigrants fleeing supposed "war zones" that don't get sent back.

At least he has a job, pays taxes and contributes something to his community.

But isn't he taking money(in wages) that could be paid to a legal resident?
