I am pretty civilised (huh) when you get to know me Neil. :P :P

Sorry Jeff , back on thread now.

It is a very inciting poem and does get the hairs tingling a bit.

The problem is,,,,,,,,,,,it is most 'probably' true.

Fishing is fishing , Life is life , but life wouldn't be very enjoyable without fishing................ Mr M 12:03 / 19-3-2009

Sure you are Carl..but the comment was not aimed at you

Carl its Burns Night, suggest we all should read some of his poetry instead of that rubbish.

Good night, oh thanks for the nice words re the floods, never did get flooded in the end.

Mr M - his barbs are mostly thrown at me but they are blunt and lacking in enough force to do damage so I ingore them.

Or maybe I just have an uncivilized thick skin.

While not the poetry you suggested this might get you cynics to laugh. I've posted it before.

SUSIE LEE DONE FELL IN LOVE;

SHE PLANNED TO MARRY JOE.

SHE WAS SO HAPPY 'BOUT IT ALL

SHE TOLD HER PAPPY SO.

PAPPY TOLD HER, "SUSIE GAL,

YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER.

I'D JUST AS SOON YO' MA DON'T KNOW,

BUT JOE IS YO' HALF BROTHER."

SO SUSIE PUT ASIDE HER JOE

AND PLANNED TO MARRY WILL,

BUT AFTER TELLING PAPPY THIS,

HE SAID, "THERE'S TROUBLE STILL."

"YOU CAN'T MARRY WILL, MY GAL,

AND PLEASE DON'T TELL YO' MOTHER,

BUT THEM AND SEVERAL MO' I KNOW

COULD BE A TRUE HALF BROTHER."

BUT MAMA KNEW AND SAID, "MY CHILE,

JUST DO WHAT MAKES YO' HAPPY.

MARRY WILL OR MARRY BILL.

YOU AIN'T NO KIN TO PAPPY

Apart from the bit that was called Anthoonij van Diemenslandt

i think new holland was easier to say for non dutch to say :D but i think it reffered to tasmania (the island next door we ethnically cleansed)

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Mathew 4:19

Grangers law : anything i say will  turn out the opposite or not happen at all!

Life insurance? you wont enjoy a penny!

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." Thomas Jefferson
