Possibly due to the sudden and severe drop in temperature recently.

Many thanks for the email about the star fish.

 

I have been in email contact with most of the people concerned and we are currently monitoring the situation.

 

I think a similar thing happened last year and star fish populations seemed to remain at equivalent levels.

 

There seem to be a number of theories about why, with over population and sudden environmental changes seeming to be some of the strong contenders.
