A Draft Marine Bill

Recommended Posts

http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/consult/...tmarinebill.pdf

The future............ plenty in there to go on I am sure, at 686 pages it might take a while to download let alone digest

Just wondering how much more of this dirge we gotta consider before we go fishing without them on our backs, Haven't even had time to get over the rsa consultation yet and this lot is thrown at us.

Defra are certainly making a massive industry out of this uk paperwork fishing ltd.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Hi Barry

Defra have the greens on their back they got to do what they say Goverment earn over £100,000,000 from aggregate dredging,

the greens will say nothing about that if defra do what the greens say thats what this is all about

anglers and commercials are in the same boat except anglers are in the green camp.

We, anglers and commercials are going to be eaten by the greens.

Reasoning, goverment signed the international UN agreement on bio and geo bio-diversity and the EU habitat laws

Greens got goverment over the barrel

"SOMETHING MUST BE DONE" says SACN's Dave Morton

Will Dave Morton and the SACN be fighting for full compensation including future loss of livelihood for the charter skippers that will be put out of business ?

I'm not sure what the link is here, Glenn?

Are you saying that the highly protected marine parks will be designated especially where charter boats operate?

I would have thought this would be exactly what the quite stringent and thorough secondary consultation processes laid down will be all about?

I would have thought RSAs can only benefit from access to some/most of these inshore areas where commercial trawling/dredging will be prohibited?

The emphasis seemed to be on 'dangerous and damaging' practices on sensitive areas and nursery areas. Unless a direct link between RSA activity and 'damaging' activities is made, then it looks as if this would be beneficial to anglers, even if the cost is what other properly developed and managed sportfishing regions have had for years, in the form of bag-limits.

What is certain is that some actions need to be taken against activities which most certainly are damaging to the habitats and stocks therein.

Not about marine parks HA, although no doubt that will be another problem. This is SACN's contribution to a propaganda video about the state of our seas. In the video you see an expert north east boat angler (not) demanding that something must be done. The video portrays a barren sea off the north east coast with nothing but "tiny tiny" fish.

Obviously this isn't the case I have many many pictures of big fish caught off our coast and lots of them.

What harm done you might say, its only a video. However when you do a little analysis of the page you find out :

123 .edu websites link here. (Colleges and universities)

37 .gov websites link here. (Government websites)

and a google page rank of 5 which is higher than the busiest angling forums.

Then you can start to see just how much damage a propaganda video like this can do when you get anglers on their saying something must be done, and government bodies watching that and then linking to it from their websites.

The next thing that must be done is compensation for our local charter fleet.

It's the bag limits that the Whitby charter fleet are worried about, it will alter the whole perspective of not only the charter fleet but all angling along the southern North sea coast.

With stocks already steadily increasing you have no proof of that, especially in the Whitby area.

I fish to live and live to fish.
