Well from the sounds of it most people either have or can get some squid so i'll say provide your own squid and i'll get 5lb mussle which we can split however many ways on the day.

 

If people can source other baits that would be great I know sultzer has said he should be able to dig Lug and Norrie has said he may be able to get hold of some Rag.

 

Really looking forward to it now just the small matter of 19 days offshore to deal with first Doh!!

I love that supermarket Kenny; have you ever tried those baby octopus they sell? Never usually lat long enough for bait but must try them for cod sometime.

 

The smaller chinese shop in the next street down (opposite the big tool shop) sells frozen "velvet" peelers too; pricey though at about £4.50 for four.

funny you should mention the octopus Chris one trip last year we were all using the usual squid/mussle/worm and prawn (the prawn only really works when the sea is really clear)and to be honest were struggling one couple were using octopus and were catching every drift.

 

Have got 5lb of mussle this morning so thats that sorted.

I may be looking to fish at Dundee on 7-4-05. Anybody liable to be about that day (Thurs).

I am ok about paying for bait as the freezer is nearly empty.
