Couldn't get used to little plain leads and small baits used to 7oz of lead plus about 3lb of lug and squid on dirty great pennel rigs I could barly see those wee little size 1/0 hooks yesterday, and I came home with exactly the same amount of gear I went with a very strange feeling indeed!

I was using 1's and 1/0's, don't normally use anything that big...

That was a great day, not the best weather but met some great folk and caught some fish .

The two Sea trout I got yesterday were my first.

Got a shock on my first cast after we moved, hadn't even finished setting up my second rod when I got a bite and there was a tea bag of a flattie and on the top hook was the sea trout.

The second one had a couple of teeth marks in its back, looked like a seals.

Have to do that again, didn't even mind getting wet :) .

Used Alan Taylors disgorgers for the first time too, anyone that doesn't have one, I would say, get one. Made life so much easier.

Shaun,

Could you have been fishing to far out? I had one rod out a bit and the other close in and it was the close one that was catching.

shaun they are still around.you can catch them all year round but winter is the best.

david was using grip leads i was using plain leads.

in the tay you do not need to cast far as it is full of sandbanks which you might land on.

i am going back at weekend hopefully if i do not get a call for work.
