Pike Story

Where do they find these people?! Good on him for saving the fish in the first place though.

But last week we reported how local fisherman had sparked a 'Jaws alert' when a giant pike leapt from the murky waters grabbing a duck by the neck and dragging it under.

Astonished fishermen threw stones at the fish and managed to pull the bird to safety. The fish has now become a prize target for anglers keen to capture the "great white shark of the freshwater world".

I really despair at some 'fishermen'.:huh::wacko::nono:

Though god knows how much of this (if any) is true........

The best time to fish is when you have a chance.

Hard to see how a pike float would remain attached if the pike had bitten through the line, surely the float would be above the break in the line.....?

Assuming the kids had the pike out of water for the 3 miles before releasing it they would have to be doing at least 12 miles an hour along the towpath which is some speed for the kids and a feat of endurance for the pike, wouldn't fancy its chances after that time...

Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... C.Yates

Not if he was using one of Neils 12 foot wire traces. :D (Sorry Neil couldn't resist ;) )

Don't be silly snotty, it wouldn't take long it was obviously a 'motor pike'.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
