Another countries war for us to get involved if it goes tits up ,think of the turkish "refugees" along with the now uncontrolled syrian "refugees" heading for the west ,the mayor of calaise is going to get a shock if france continues to open its borders to the worlds population ,merkle will be crapping herself ,end of shenghan ?

Lots more moslems on the move methinks ,surprised greece is so quiet under germanies thumb LOL

Unless their military has changed recently, I doubt they will need any outside help. Since they tend to be more pro-west & pro-democracy than the current administration, I think it might work out better for us if the coup succeeds.

Trouble is how will the new regime react to the kurds ,america and britain support them so if the military are anti kurd we are by default enemies and for a relatively small state they are historically tough cookies with the arms to back it up ,if they decide to get rid of the kurds where does america stand?

We have already set up a kurdish state which turkey would resist so i guess we were bribing the existing government leaders to resist having a go at the kurds they hate ,can we bribe the military? Should we be bribing the military its our interferance that got us in this **** already

It's interesting. Erdogan is the antithesis of everything that Ataturk stood for.

I suspect that the coup is by those in favour of secularism but it could be much darker.

European Council President Donald Tusk said the country (Turkey) was "a key partner for the European Union"

 

 

and no, I'm not claiming I foresaw this attempted coup , but it's another good reason for Brexit.

 

A coup might have been "thwarted" this time, but it is not a problem that will go away.
