Have you checked the cpu fan is running? Check also theres no dust blocking up the cooling system
Second try installing advanced system care and run that
Is the hard drive noisy or hot?

Clifftop,

Move to a warmer climate

Phone

Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. Some program "upgrades" by 3rd party vendors will not work on Windows 7.  Be sure you are not "updating" programs or worse yet automatically updating at some ridiculous time of day.

looks like you were spot on with the dust.

I cleaned the front vent which was really dusty then I took the side off the tower

and the vent in front of the fan would have been 95% blocked with dust.

your bloods worth bottling

Thank you very much :clap3:  :clap3: :clap3:  :clap3:  :clap3:  :clap3:

Spoke too soon, the problem is still there so I've downloaded Advanced System Care and ran that so up to now it's fine
