Cheap Araldite - 2 for a Quid.

Here's a 2 part Epoxy glue I bought last week from a pound shop.

Yes, you get 2 lots for a Quid on the same card. (the 6 piece thing is the 2 spatulas for mixing)

Instructions on the back are all in English!!

The cheap stuff tends to gel very quickly.

Fine for many applications, but be sure to have everything ready to go before you start.

Real English English people talk? I tend to buy such bargains but forget to use them ,this just reminded me i have some flexible two part somewhere ,probably hard as rock now

Keep an eye out for the epoxy putties that you kneed together.

They are incredibly useful and will happily sit in the back of a draw for years until you need them.

Not used any yet but have my eyes on it ,i can see its use for repairing holes in things but no sure what other use it could have as its not sticky.

I have a heat staple gun for plastic which worked very well on my sons ldv bumper and my latest toy is a nutset which is great for remaking worn out bolt holes in body work where you cannot get a spanner behind it ,i wish i had that when i refurbed my volvo back bumper securing points!

Not found a perfect glue for soft plastic or metal yet araldite doesnt really stick to the point it can be flexed and not break off metal ,some of the car stuff is ok for large areas where you cannot see it but i prefer pop rivets to reinforce the area with thin metal over the top and the glue inbetween ,i tend to over engineer ! Gorrilla glue has uses but is very messy ,stains your fingers and once open goes hard in a short while but great for damp areas .

You can buy a kit that contains grey and black powder to add to the superglue makes it blend in easier

On the subject of glue, a coating of rubber cement (for repairing bike inner tubes) locks the braided loop of a flyline into place brilliantly.

With a good tug, the braid will lock solidly onto the flyline without any help, but there's always a risk of it coming off while casting or mending the line unless you give it a bit of help.
