Right people,I bought one many years ago,a daewoo halogen thing that we found next to useless,so after three or four attempts is banished on top of kitchen cabinets, but having seen a few things on YouTube and seeing how much better they seem now I'm tempted to have another try, question is,how much, how big, particular models etc,so any help would be greatly appreciated....

We have three the most used one (for chips) is an actifry its our second one as they are fine for chips! Not much use for anything else it destroys most other things unless you buy the basket ! Most parts are availble except the fan motor its impossible to remove once the clips weld themselves together ,if they didnt we would still be on the first actifry lol

Second is globe shaped one (cant remember its name it lives in the actifry box as backup) not as destructive but quite slow. It can do more than chips though (its a brevill halo fryer ,its hot air is a little slow)

Third is my one it does lots of things but is quite small but it has rotisserie  for mediium sized chickens and a rotating chip basket but i use it for its dehydrating function which it excells at that one is a power xl cooker .it does lots of stuff and looks ok too

All pretty well work the same way a hot lamp or heater wire heating air that is blown onto the food .we did think of the round one you have but its bulky and made of glass not something an epileptic needs in her kitchen .

It all depends on what you want ,if we get a visit on sunday we go up in the loft and get our vertical spit roasting one down it takes a much bigger chicken than the power xl ,its all based on what your going to use it for.

Power wise its wattage (higher the better 1800 is minimum imho ) or if its an oven type the max temperature it can do 240c is pretty well the highest you will go

If you choose actifry dont jump quick the prices are all over the place we got ours for £99 silly actify themselves rrp it at twice that (vax is the same🤔) shop around theres always bargains if you look

If you want to combine appliences theres even hot air microwaves now ,we have a combi oven (micro ,oven and grill) which is brilliant had air fryer versions (it is similar on the oven setting) been around then i might have bought one . now theres steam and pressure versions !!!

Don't use one, but I saw a recommendation that I might take up a couple of weeks ago.

Does all the air fryer stuff, uses way less energy than a full sized oven but in a different form factor.

I shall go find it post-haste.

Amazon don't have it in stock at present, but the Camels shows quite a lot of price variation:

There are a few price tracker apps (i use keepa) that monitor web sites and send you notifications when prices drop to a pre set figure you input. I generally plump for the previous lowest and set it there but it may take some time to plummet to that figure and most of the time its for a very short time as a lightning deal on amazon or the equivilent ,unlike those useless "shopping " search engines its not trying to use click bait with an old price to draw you in .

Brilliant tools for buying stuff that you know you will need, but which has no urgency.

My Camels profile is filled with whiskies that I can only afford when they're on offer.

They're also good for putting the brakes on impulse buys - seeing that something is often available cheaper is a great incentive to hold and wait.

I felt sorry for my mrs trying to view the grand kids on her phone so i bought her a messenger enabled device ,theres only the one the amazon echo shows and google nests dont support it so it was down to the facebook devices. Pleasantly surprised whilst not perfect the facebook portal go fitted her needs ,its battery powered so she can take it into the other room and chat as long as she needs .

Been setting it up for her today ,she just has to touch a picture of the various offspring and it can video call them ,its a great bluetooth speaker for her phone and it controls  the door camera and outside lamp (it switches off at ten or the foxes send it potty ) its drawback is the lack of apps but whats there is enough for her . Had it been for me i would have got an amazon version but i dont mind using my tablet, hers albeit 6 months old has the slowest wifi in existance and buffers every few seconds (she wouldnt let me return it !) This one supports 5g wifi so its lagless .Half the price of a new tablet that she only reads the news with! Pleasently surprised the thing is well made and simple enough for her to use without me having to step in when she forgets to press what!
