I've often wanted to post on here however my iPad can no longer post on here (as it is no longer supported by Apple) . So I'm having to post using my mobile phone or get my old laptop to post which is a bit of a pain in the backside.

Anyone else having to do this because of their aging iPad?

I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and spend some cash on a new iPad.

Cheap Android tablets work just as well as an i-pad, but I much prefer a PC plugged into the TV and a wireless keyboard.

A modern android pad will work fine ,most of the problem is the android version can no longer function for some apps.My old pad could no longer use the 'Capta' (the things that asks you to tick on cars or crossings etc to verify your a human) so signing in on some things impossible .

Used it to put games on for grandkids and bought an up to date one.

Never owned an apple device ,the knowledge that you dont own it (as in the company can remove  its service anytime)and its deliberately programmed to fail if they want it to over the air via updates should make people very wary ,saying that my sister loves hers and her job revolves around it is another side of the story.Another naughty thing is some of their tech only works with the latest phone forcing you to hand over a grand just to use their watch !

Never understood using a mobile phone to browse the web either ,you must be missing a great deal using that rather than a 10 or 12" tablet and that onscreen keypad is so tiny aswell my fat fingers enter the wrong letters on this pad as it is lol

This is the only forum (so far) that I'm having problems with when using my iPad. I don't have any problems when I access the FishingMagic or the MaggotDrowners forums.

I've had the same problem before but Elton solved my problem the last time it happened.

My iPad is no longer supported or updated by Apple which I think is probably my problem.

Although I can still access this forum I just can't reply or create a post using my iPad.

NB: I can't open my virgin email using my dated iPad either.

I can use my laptop but because I don't regularly use it I have to wait for it to perform updates for several minutes before I can open the forum. So using my mobile using a stylus is my quickest way to reply or create a new post on this forum.

I was thinking of getting the missus to buy me a new iPad or a new android pad which would solve my problem.

The last one I bought was about four years ago and is a Xiaomi.

It does what I need, but it's hardly current tech. I tend to treat stuff like this as disposable. Most will let you play videos and access the web without any issues.

Edit: Just be sure to decide weather you want to use a SIM, or just wifi before you buy.
