mullet fishing

Anything that looks like bread. Even a little corner of hard crust (stale) will stay on a size 14 hook.

 

Actually Im thinking the flesh coloured fishnstrips bait chopped up to look like punched bread might be a hit and stay well on the hook. Im gonna give it a try when I find some.

Good on yer Marski, I'm currently here in Texas on holiday and have just had a near 3lb Striped Mullet (Mugil cephalus) on an Olive gold-head nymph - that's four species of mullet I have now had on fly.

 

 

The fight from a mullet hooked on fly is fantastic, and this fish was no exception. Got some strange looks from a number of Texas anglers tho', especiallly when I put the fish back
