have a look at this, looks a lovely rod. i think the 1.25 avon option will probably suite my fishing methods quite well. what are your thoughts on this rod, have you used/known somebody who has used one?, and what would be a good choice of reel to top it off with?........any help apprieciated.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

but as for reel I think the Intrepid invisible would be the ideal choice ;):D

I bought one of these fairly recently for chub and perch fishing - it's superb, highly recommended! It's got a nice soft action with plenty of power at the butt. The quivertips are good too, and very visible. £90 seems to be the price for it - haven't seen it any cheaper than that. I bought mine from a local tackle shop.

 

Any small/medium fixed spool reel will be fine with it.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
