If the phone is turned on and your SIM card is in it, it can be traced to within a few metres - they don't even have to make a call.

Probably to late now though, They'll have had your SIM's ripped out, been unlocked by some dodgy high stret phone shop ans had cheap PAYG SIM's dropped in by now.

I keep meaning to get the footplates of my reals engraved with my name and post code but never have. After reading this, I just might make the effort.

I parked in the same car park in the early hours while on an angling weekend in July this year. Thankfully with no problems.

It did cross my mind that the local scum could target cars parked there from time to time. Several cars are parked overnight by anglers at the far end.

Anyone returning would warn of their approach from the scrunch of their feet on the stones.

Public response is a problem because people do not know how far things will go with these thugs.

I intervened once and end up in court charge with GBH, the case was dismissed as one off the three men involved in beating up another chap was carrying a knife with a eight inch blade.

It was felt that the blow I delivered to his meat and veg area was reasonable under the circumstances.

And the one that I hit who fell into the front of the pub juke box was totally unfore seen. I did fail to tell them about the gentle encouragement from my left foot. :D

The thing was I ended up spending the night in a cell, mug shots and prints until the landlady came to my rescue and a further day in court with loss of pay.

This was many years ago now and things have got far worst for people stepping in now. Today those three thugs would be able to take out a private case against me which I would have to defend.

The law is all to often forgets the victims of the crime.

Funny how people with mobile phones are quick enough to call the police out for nothing if they see someone lawfully shooting pigeons or the like!
